Ancient Gree
We talked about ancient Greece. We talked about art form , democracy, and art form. How could they make Stonehenge without nowday's technology like crane or something like that? It is mysterious. Mr Schick said that it was built by aliens. Mr Shick is not going to be at class on Monday. So we did some audition for who is going to teach on Monday instead of him. It was really fun but I am sad about his absent on Monday.

Test Score
It was my first test for Western Civilization and I was disappointed about my score. I got 63/78 which is 81. It was almost average but I expected more score. We checked our score and went over the questions. I felt some differences between here and Korea. They compete so much in Korea. Anyway now I got how to study for the Western Civ so I thick I can do better on next test.

Pyramid challenge
All of us played Pyramid challenge which is making Pyramid on the game. Earlier game complete, the more credit we get. I played with Kappel. He tried like 4 or 5 times and gave up and I playd it 3 times and also gave up. There was time limitation so we did it hurriedly. Some teams already finished it and got credit and everyone else who didn't finish it had it for homework. I did it on free mod. It was unusual experience to do game in the class

Cyber Day 1
A. Describe the social hierachy and of the ancient Egyptians.
As everyone knows, during the ancient Egypt Pharaoh was a king and also god of Egyptian. There was also hierarchy for the society. This social position is given when there were born.
Pharaoh-government officials-soldiers-scribes-merchant-artisans-farmers-slaves and servants. This is order of ancient Egypt's hierarchy and they had to follow it.
Pharaoh was obeyed by everyone in the Egypt and considered to be a man given power by the god. Pharaoh's mission was to control the whole country like as normal king, but they had awesome responsibility and power. Priest, physicians, and engineers are the government officials. They are also called " white kilt" because they wear only bright colors. Soldiers were third class. They invented chariots to be stronger and also they were the first one who used wooden weapons. For the scribes they wrote down useful information. They kept records, told stories, wrote poetry, described anatomy and medical information. Merchant used money/barter system and invented coinage to buy and sell something wisely. Their mission was to get profit for the Egypt. Artisans would carve statues and relief showing military battles and scenes in the afterlife. They were more likely to sculptures. Some of them carved in the pyramids. Farmers raised wheat, barley, lentils, onions. They benifitted from irrigation of the Nile and naturally well-informed about Nile. It provides good quality of soil on September and it floods on June. For the last, slaves and servants didnt live hardly. They helped the wealthy with household and childraising.
As I wrote, there were hierarchy for ancient Egypt society and there were duties for each position. Ultimately everythings were for their Pharaoh and their afterlife.
B.Discuss the importance of the Nile river in the lives of Egyptians.
Ancient Egypt was around Nile river so it was most important place for ancient Egyptians. It determined their lives. But using this river wisely they usually get advantage. Farmers were well-informed about Nile. If it floods the water destroyed all the crops and mess up soil. Otherwise if it provides moderate water then they got extravagant profit from harvest. They pray to the god for the good harvest every year. They invented calender to predict when does the Nile floods usually. It floods in June and provides fertile soil in September. There is place called delta. It is triangle shaped and has much more fertile soil there.

Mr schick got mad.
Mr schick was mad because of our rude behavior. Frankly speaking, I don't speak in the class because I am learning English. I can even understand like 80% of the class. Anyway after that I went out during the class to take picture of international students. When I came back they were watching videos about mummification and then about pyramids. How did they make that size of structure? It is even hard to make it now!! I think because they built not only pyramids and but also invent so many things, they are one of the most innovational culture.
Cyber day 2
1.There are so many inventions and innovations of the ancient Egypt. Among them I think calender is the best invention. They should know when does the Nile River flood for farming. So using calender was great advantage for them. Secondly, Papyrus is innovational invention. They could write or draw something on it and it makes better to exist history. For the last, Pyramids are astonishing invention. It is huge tomb for the King of the Egypt. How did they make that size of tomb at that time? Even though it is questionable inventions, it is fact that Pyramids are tremendous inventions.
2.Pyramid is tomb of pharaoh which is King of the ancient Egypt. Pyramids are very important structure in many ways. One important feature is it's appearance. It is huge triangle shaped and made of marble. But it stripped by the Muslim. Another important feature is inside of the Pyramids. There are many paintings of people and pharaohs. Also pharaoh buried many jewelries and something like that expensive things and their family members and their pets also. The last important feature of pyramids is that there is secret entrance and also secret rooms for Pharaoh. They had to move blocks to make road to go to secret rooms and there are also traps to protect Pharaohs

Today Arri and Laura had almost fight. I actually did't understand all of it but I know that the reason is Arri's hobby. It was kind of funny and everyone in the class laughed. And also Laura changed seat to the back. We watched some videos about how to make Mummy. I've seen mummy in Korea when they borrow it fro Egypt and by seeing the procedure of making mummy, it was disgusting. How could they get rid of the internal organs..... Anyway today's class was really funny
